Founding Backend/Infrastructure Engineer
Own the architecture that drives our platform’s growth and stability. As the lead engineer responsible for our backend and infrastructure, you'll play a crucial role in scaling our SaaS platform, building out on-premises solutions, and supporting our desktop application infrastructure.
This role is hybrid in Seattle, WA, USA.
What exactly you will do:
- Own our backend and infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers our services, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Optimize and scale. Work on optimizing our systems for performance and scalability as we grow, ensuring that our platform can handle increasing load and complexity.
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams. Work closely with other teams to integrate backend solutions that enhance the user experience.
- Build our team. As we grow, you will be a part recruiting and interviewing new engineers, building out a world-class backend and infrastructure team.
At a minimum you should:
- Have shipped reliable, scalable, and secure backend systems, preferably with a significant user base.
- Be comfortable with selecting and implementing the right tools and frameworks for the job, with significant experience in languages like Python, Go, or Node.js, and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Be autonomous and driven. You will be an owner, with the autonomy to match.
- Enjoy solving complex technical challenges and have a deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, and infrastructure best practices.
- Have experience with database management and optimization, particularly with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
Bonuses you may have:
- Specific experience migrating SaaS applications to on prem VPCs.
- Deep knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.

- Experience scaling a brand new product, either at a startup or not, from a small number of users to tens of thousands.
